Tricorn 8.3 is now available

Tricorn 8.3 is one of the biggest updates to Tricorn MRP we have released in a while. Most of what is in it came directly from customer feedback, and it is designed to make the day to day quicker for everyone from the sales office to goods-in.

Alongside 8.3 we are launching Supplier Invoicing, a new module that checks every supplier invoice against its purchase order and delivery before it is approved for payment.

What's new in 8.3

Tasks for every user
Create and assign actions for yourself or a colleague, with due dates and comments, directly in Tricorn. Task lists sit on quotes, works orders, purchase orders and QMS records, so each follow-up stays attached to the record it belongs to. Some tasks are raised automatically, such as a purchase order that needs authorising.

The whole customer order on one screen
A new Customer Order tab on the works order form shows every line on the order, with part numbers, quantities, values and status. You can re-order lines, amend delivery dates and raise new works orders without leaving the screen.

Colour-coded statuses
Quote and works order statuses are now colour coded throughout Tricorn, including in search results. A dedicated status picker prevents accidental changes and stops active orders being converted to templates by mistake.

A deeper Job Explorer
The revamped Job Explorer now drills down into stock batches, so batch detail is available from the job itself.

Simpler handling of non-stock items
A new Stocked checkbox on parts and materials lets you receive consumables and one-off purchases without creating stock records you don't need. Delivery and batch information is still captured, so traceability is maintained.

Custom Fields with checklists
Custom Fields now include a Checklist type, so you can add your own sign-off steps to records.

Material certificate flags
Material certificate requirements can now be flagged on purchase orders, deliveries and customers.

Also in this release
RFQ supplier totals, specification drop-downs, generic works order templates for faster set-up, and images on parts and materials.

Supplier Invoicing: three-way matching inside Tricorn

Most manufacturing finance teams know the routine. Find the purchase order, check the delivery note, then query the invoice when the price or quantity doesn't line up. It is slow, and mismatches still get paid.

Supplier Invoicing does the three-way match for you. Each supplier invoice is checked against the purchase order and the goods received in Tricorn, and any price, tax or quantity discrepancy is flagged automatically before approval.

Once an invoice is matched it posts directly to your accounts package, so it is never keyed in twice. Because Supplier Invoicing works from the purchasing and goods-in data already in Tricorn, there is no separate system to maintain.
