Closing the loop on every job
Scheduler tells you what should happen on the shop floor. Shop Floor Data Capture (SFDC) tells you what actually happened. Used together, they put quoted hours on one side and live operator data on the other, for every job.
On 12 May 2026 Joe Durrant ran a webinar walking through the full workflow. Here is a summary.
Plan
Scheduler builds the plan around real capacity across machines, people and tooling. You can see whether a delivery date is achievable before you commit to it, and move operations with drag and drop when priorities change.
Run
Operators book on and off jobs at the machine with SFDC, recording progress, completions and downtime as work happens. The schedule reflects live shop floor activity, so the plan stays current without anyone re-keying it.
Prove
Because SFDC captures actual times against each operation, you can compare them with the hours you planned and quoted. That gives you accurate labour costing on every job and shows which jobs and operations regularly run over.
Those figures feed back into the next quote and the next plan. Over time, your estimates get closer to reality and your delivery dates become easier to keep.
Who it is for
The session is most useful for production managers, operations directors and anyone who wants to see how the two modules connect in a typical production setup.
